Quilt Trail
Just like the quilt trails in the mountains of North Carolina, only closer! The Quilt Trail of the Roanoke River brings this tradition to Martin County. Enjoyable not only for quilting enthusiasts, the trail aspires to educate and provide history on the region.
Each block features a pattern inspired by the place where it hangs and will be recorded in the Tar & Roanoke Rivers Quilt Trail Guide that will delve deeper into the rich heritage and stories of the region, relaying the significance of each block.
Arts Council
The Martin County Arts Council was formed in 1975 by a group of local citizens with a love and appreciation for the arts. We operate as a volunteer organization guided by a Board of Directors from our home, the Flat Iron Building on Washington Street. We offer program in the art center and through community outreach to serve all the citizens of Martin County.
Murals
From the rolling backroads of northwest Martin County to the vibrant heart of Williamston, colorful murals by talented local artists brighten the journey! Make it an afternoon adventure—cruise from one stunning mural to the next, soaking in the stories and history of Martin County along the way. An official Mural Trail is on the horizon, set to debut in 2026, making it even easier to explore these artistic treasures!
