Martin who was the governor of Florida. Martin County includes 555.62 square miles of land and 197.18 square miles of water. The population of Martin County was 146,318 according to the 2010 U.S. Census

The county seat of Martin County is the city of Stuart, FL. Stuart is part of the Port Lucie, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population of Stuart is around 16,000 people. Stuart is known as the sailfish capital of the world because of all the sailfish sightings around Martin County.

Martin County is part of the Port St. Lucie Metropolitan Statistical Area. Some area attractions in Martin County are; Martin County Fair, area beaches, Elliott Museum, Savannas Preserve and State Park, and St. Lucie Inlet Preserve State Park.
